Ursula Moray Williams (1911-2006)

From her contribution to Partners in Progress:

” “Harrap’s the makers of Books Beautiful” was a title rendered more practicable by the lower costs of pre War production, and I well remember the beautiful books he published and showed me, including a volume of love lyrics which he sent to us personally on my wedding in 1935.

It was a real grief to me when Mr Harrap died. At the time he was extremely interested in my book The Adventures of the Little Wooden Horse, which was in process of publication, superbly illustrated by Miss Joyce Lankester Brisley, and which fulfilled his expectations by becoming a “children’s classic,” as Eleanor Graham presaged the following year, and confirmed when publishing a Puffin edition in 1959.”
