123 Station Road, Hampton

From: The Changing Face of Station Road, Hampton (2014), by John Sheaf:

“Plans were approved for what is now 123 Station Road in Dec 1896. The original business was a cab & fly proprietor, and hence the former stables on the right hand side of the premises at the back. Directories list Salvatore Galea, cab & fly proprietor for whom the property was built, in 1899. The location, very close to the Railway Station, would have been ideal for this type of business and picking up passengers before cars were in use locally. NB In a curious clause in the deeds the property, built as a cab & fly livery stables, was never to become a cottage hospital! By the mid 2000s it was “Impressed”, with the former stables at the back being redeveloped.”
